Welcome to Penn State Lehigh Valley!
Dr. Ann Williams, Chancellor

It continues to be my privilege to serve as the Chancellor of such a vibrant campus steeped in educational history. As the oldest, continuously running campus in the Penn State system outside of University Park, we have continued to respond to the needs of our students and our community by providing an education that emphasizes learning, leading, and living.

Learning opportunities abound within the Penn State system. Whether you choose to complete your degree at Penn State Lehigh Valley, another community campus, or at theUniversity Park campus, the choice remains yours. Over 200 Penn State majors can have their beginnings at our campus and five baccalaureate degrees (Business, Information, Science, Technology, Applied Psychology, Elementary Education, and Organizational Leadership) can be completed. National and international travel and research can also become a part of the Lehigh Valley campus students' curriculum either through our Honors program or various courses and curricula. Whatever is best for you, our faculty and staff will facilitate your success.

Leadership training is a part of all of our curricula and activities at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Our Emerging Leaders program with regional school districts enables high school juniors the opportunity to begin Penn State leadership development in their junior year. Over the past few years, this program has enabled students to “jump-start” their college career with a leadership flavor. On the Lehigh Valley campus, our students learn to be leaders not only through their coursework but also by assuming leadership positions on the campus and throughout the University by their involvement in the many clubs and Student Government opportunities. Last year, a large contingent of Penn State Lehigh Valley students lobbied legislators in Harrisburg concerning issues that face all college students in today’s world.

Living in the Lehigh Valley is a source of great pride for many of the students that attend the Lehigh Valley campus. Community involvement and a service learning approach are integral components of many of the activities and classes in our curriculum. Last year, our students raised over $10,000 for THON, a student-run philanthropy for kids with cancer. In the past few years, it has been a Penn State Lehigh Valley student who has risen above the other 83,000 to be recognized in the University with community service awards and scholarships. Penn State Lehigh Valley students invest in their community and truly believe in the Penn State philosophy of making life better as they learn.

We are truly proud to be members of the Penn State Lehigh Valley family. A recent survey of our students indicated that 98 percent would recommend the Lehigh Valley campus to their friends. An equal percentage said that if they had the opportunity to make that decision in the future --- they would, once again, choose to start at Penn State Lehigh Valley. We would invite you to do the same because, at Penn State Lehigh Valley, we don’t want our students to achieve good grades --- we want them to achieve great lives.
