ABOUT
USING ALEKSALEKS is a web-based, artificially intelligent assessment and learning system. ALEKS uses adaptive questioning to quickly and accurately determine exactly what a student knows and doesn't know regarding mathematics. ALEKS then provides instruction on the topics the student is most ready to learn. ALEKS also provides the advantages of one-on-one instruction, 24/7, from virtually any web-based computer for a fraction of the cost of a human tutor.
Once you register, you will be guided through a 10-minute tutorial that will help you become familiar with the ALEKS system.
After the tutorial, you will take an initial placement assessment in the ALEKS "Assessment Mode." The assessment will create a precise understanding of your knowledge of mathematics. Try to answer each question to the best of your ability. If you do not know the answer, just click "I don't know." Answering questions correctly during your assessment will enable you to avoid repeating these topics later in ALEKS.

It is recommended for students to select their ALEKS course corresponding to their math level on their initial placement exam.
MATH 004
This ALEKS course covers many of the topics covered in MATH 004. You may get a head-start on MATH 004 concepts with ALEKS. Students who complete the MATH 004 content provided by ALEKS may be ready to enroll in MATH 021 at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Note that completing this material in ALEKS does NOT give you credit for MATH 004.
MATH 021
This ALEKS course covers many of the topics covered in MATH 021. You may get a head-start on MATH 021 concepts with ALEKS. Students who complete the MATH 021 content provided by ALEKS may be ready to enroll in MATH 022 at Penn State Lehigh Valley.
