Q: Do I need to be enrolled at Penn State Lehigh Valley in order to use the tutoring services?

1. Yes.  The Learning Center is only for students who are currently enrolled in classes at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Q: How often should I come for tutoring?

1. It is really up to you.  If you only have a quick question or two, come in when those questions arise.  However, for students who recognize that a particular course will be an ongoing challenge, the most successful approach is to start tutoring early in the semester and come on a regular basis.  For many students, that means coming a couple hours a week for the entire semester.

Q: How do I schedule a tutoring appointment?

1. Starting the Fall 2010 semester, math tutoring is available without an appointment (i.e. drop-in tutoring) during posted hours. If you are in need of tutoring in a subject other than math, stop by 211 Saucon and fill out a tutor request form.

Q: Do I need an appointment to see a math tutor?

1. No.  Starting Fall 2010, math tutoring is available on a drop-in basis.  Appointments are not needed during drop-in hours.  Please check the Learning Center for the hours of availability for math tutoring.

Q: What if I need help in a subject not listed or if I need tutoring outside of the times that are posted?

1. See the Learning Center Coordinator for assistance.

Q: Where will my tutoring session be held?

1. Most of the math tutoring takes place in the Learning Center (211 Saucon).  Group review sessions may be scheduled in a classroom.  When you schedule a session with a tutor who works "by appointment," it will be between you and the tutor to arrange a time and place to meet.  All tutoring must take place on campus.

Q: How much does tutoring cost?

1. Nothing.  It is free to all Penn State Lehigh Valley students.
