COMMUTING BY CARIf you drive a vehicle to campus, you must obtain and properly display a parking permit. Parking permits are issued on a yearly basis and applications for permits can be obtained at the reception desk. Permits and stickers are transferable and can be used on any vehicle the student may be driving. There is no fee for a parking permit, but failure to obtain a permit can result in $10.00 parking fine.

PSUAlert is an emergency notification service for Penn State students, faculty, and staff that allows the University to send alerts by text message, voice message, and email in the event of an emergency, and when events affect a campus’s ability to operate normally (during inclement weather, for example). After you have registered for your Penn State access account and email address, add your cell phone number and other emergency contact information to PSUAlert by visiting http://psualert.psu.edu. All students, faculty, and staff automatically will receive PSUAlert messages at their Penn State email address.
All students are strongly encouraged to add cell phone numbers for text messages. It is imperative that students visit the signup portal and provide their contact information. In the event of an emergency, having additional contact information in the database with help authorities reach you with critical information.
Students can add parents or family members, but are asked to keep this to a minimum. Students can have up to three text numbers, three voice numbers and three email addresses in the system, including their own.
The PSUAlert system is free, however those who sign up for text alerts may be charged a fee by their carrier when a message is received, depending on the details of the plan.
