Exhibition Dates: October 29 - December 14, 2012
Reception: Thursday, November 8, 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Artist talk at 4:00 p.m.
This exhibition includes photographs from Anderson’s ongoing series CADILLAC. A limited edition book will be created based on the photographs in this presentation. Penn State Lehigh Valley students will be invited to explore the images and prompted to discuss the state of America in terms of where we have been, where we are now and where we are going as a nation. Our dialogue will be provoked through the perspective of various academic disciplines such as sociology, communications, business, marketing and art media…and any other voice that would like to join the conversation.
Artist Statement: The photographs are not so much about place as they are about transformation. The context of everyday American life is used in my visual exploration. The search began in the early twenty-first century and is expressed in a myriad of episodes that inform my life. The photographs are democratic in the sense that no place or person is more or less important than another. Hopefully they will provide an entry way for the viewer.
