Centennial update: Campus adds events to year-long celebration
Penn State Lehigh Valley is celebrating its 100th anniversary of education and service to the Lehigh Valley with a variety of events in 2012. New events have been added to the year-long celebration. Lehigh County Bicentennial Celebration – March 10
The campus will participate in another big birthday celebration as Lehigh County marks its bicentennial with a community event on March 10 from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex facility. The community is invited to stop by the Penn State Lehigh Valley booth to learn more about the campus, have their photo taken with the Nittany Lion mascot, and more.
Allentown St. Patrick's Day Parade – March 18
Penn State Lehigh Valley will add a dash of blue and white to a green celebration as students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Nittany Lion march in the 55th annual Allentown St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 18 at 2:30 p.m.
Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs Baseball Game – April 13
The Penn State Lehigh Valley community will gather to cheer on the Iron Pigs minor league baseball team at 7:05 p.m., April 13, at Coca Cola Park in Allentown. Special centennial activities are planned throughout the game including Penn State trivia on the scoreboard, a nod to our graduating class, and the Nittany Lion mascot will join Iron Pigs mascots Ferrous and FeFe to entertain the crowd. The game will conclude with fireworks.
