Campus invited to raise awareness of autism
The Penn State Lehigh Valley community is invited to participate in the 4th Annual Lehigh Valley Walk Now for Autism, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 17 at Lehigh Parkway in Allentown. To join the Penn State Lehigh Valley team, participants can sign up in Centre Hall from 10 a.m.-noon on April 2, 5, 9 and 12, and from 9:30 a.m.-noon on March 31 and April 7 and 14. Sign-ups will also be taken in the Student Affairs office (room 214).
Walk Now for Autism is held annually by Autism Speaks, the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization which is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and a cure for autism; as well as raising awareness of autism spectrum disorders.
Each Penn State Lehigh Valley participant will be asked to sell at least 25 puzzle pieces for Autism for a $1/donation per piece. The puzzle pieces will be displayed at the campus in Center Valley and the proceeds will benefit Autism Speaks. In addition, Team Penn State Lehigh Valley t-shirts will be available to the first 30 registered participants.
