Registration open for 2009 Diverse Literacies Conference
Penn State Lehigh Valley, in conjunction with the Lehigh Valley Writing Project, is offering a one-day Diverse Literacies Conference from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 26 at the Bear Creek Ski Resort and Conference Center in Macungie, Pennsylvania. The theme of the conference is "Differentiated Instructional Practices for 21st Century Teachers: The Merging of Context, Culture, and Curriculum."
Designed for all levels of educators (K-College) as well as pre-service teachers, this program will feature Mary Kalantzis Ph.D., noted multiliteracies scholar and Dean of the College of Education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In addition to the keynote address by Kalantzis, there will be a variety of workshops, panel presentations, and visual display sessions offered throughout the day.
