Event to Showcase Student Research
The scholarship and talents of Penn State Lehigh Valley students will be on display during the second annual Undergraduate Research Symposium. The event will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, in the Atrium and Concourse of the Lehigh Valley campus in Fogelsville.
The symposium will feature 23 poster presentations and other visual displays of projects involving 40 students and their 12 faculty mentors. The projects cover a variety of disciplines and include research on social psychology, women broadcasters, computing science, the education system, Latin Americans in the Lehigh Valley, and heart development, among others. In addition, three symposium awards will be given for the best project presentation.
This symposium is organized by the Research and Scholarship Committee –Tai-Yin Huang (Chair), Henry Check, Ana Figueroa, and Kenneth Thigpen (Director of Academic Affairs). It is sponsored in part by the Office of Student Affairs, Barnes and Noble at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus, and National Science Foundation. This event is open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
