Adult Learner Success Series Event Aims to Empower through Technology

Penn State Lehigh Valley’s Adult Learner Success Series will offer a session focused on "Empowering Adults through Technology" from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, November  18, in the Atrium at the Lehigh Valley campus.  Registration will begin at 4:45 p.m. and refreshments will be provided.  Reservations are requested by November 12, 2008.  This event is free and open to the campus community.

This informational session, sponsored by the Career Services office, will feature interactive presentations on technology and networking.  Participants will receive a basic tour of Facebook, including its setup and features, as well as an introduction to the new Penn State Lehigh Valley Adult Learner Facebook group.  In addition, an overview of blogging, the Penn State blogging system, and student perspectives on using these technological systems will be covered.

Presenters will include the following Penn State campus members:

·         Eileen Grodziak, instructional services specialist (Digital Commons)

·         Jessica Kirkwood, coordinator of Career Services

·         Kate Morgan, director of University Relations

·         Alex Burdine, Sharon Crivellaro, and Debra Mynar; adult learners
