World Bank Institute's Christopher Neal Presents Lecture on Fighting Poverty
As senior communications officer at the World Bank Institute (WBI), Christopher Neal leads a team whose responsibilities include management of WBI’s website, publications program, public conferences and special events, internal and external communications, and media relations. Mr. Neal has held several positions over more than eight years at the World Bank, including senior communications advisor to the Bank’s Senior Vice President and Chief Economist, and senior communications advisor in the Latin America and Caribbean department.
He has also been Director General of Communications, among other communications management positions, at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), as well as communications officer at the Canadian Council for International Cooperation and CUSO, a large development NGO. Educated at Carleton University, Ottawa, he began his career as a legislative assistant to a Canadian cabinet minister, and then worked as a journalist for The (Montreal) Gazette and Ottawa Citizen, and as a freelancer in Latin America during the 1980s.
