Penn State Lehigh Valley to hold Day of Service

9/5/2008 —

Students, faculty, and staff at Penn State Lehigh Valley will come together on Thursday, September 11, to give back to the community as a day of remembrance of the tragic events seven years ago.

Scheduled community service activities include:

visiting the Lehigh Valley Hospital by Penn State students and the Nittany Lion to deliver gifts to children in the pediatric unit;
a trip to the Greenawald’s Fire Co. by faculty, staff, and students to help paint, clean, and handle minor repairs at the facility.

The campus community will also be collecting supplies for Animals in Distress, a no-kill shelter. Many animals are in need of clean used/new towels and blankets, dog and cat food/treats (wet & dry), dog and cat beds, toys, collars, leashes, grooming supplies, and food bowls.

For more information, contact Cindy Nguyen, Student Affairs Coordinator, at 610-285-5042.
