Penn State Lehigh Valley will sponsor A Night of Cycling to benefit the Jim Young Scholarship Fund. The event will be held at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center (the former Lehigh Valley Velodrome), Trexlertown, on Friday, August 1, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. when the gates open. The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is located at the intersection of  Routes 222 and 100 in Trexlertown.

The Jim Young Scholarship Fund is in honor of Penn State University's outstanding cycling coach, Jim Young, who has been training the University’s cyclists since 1983. Under Coach Young's leadership, the Penn State cycling team has won several national championships and more than thirty individual titles. The proceeds of this scholarship will be used to pave the way for future cyclists to train while continuing their education at Penn State.

The public is invited to attend this event. Tickets are available for $40/couple, $25/individual, and children 12 and under are free. For more information about the event, contact Stacy Hamm, Alumni Relations Coordinator, at 610-285-5064 or slh53@psu.edu.
