Penn State Lehigh Valley Student Presented with Prestigious Award
Peter L. Wilson was presented with the Eric A. and Josephine Walker Award at the 22nd
annual Honors Convocation award ceremony held recently in the West Garden at Penn State Lehigh Valley in Fogelsville.
The Walker Award is presented annually to one undergraduate student at each Penn State campus. It recognizes a student with outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and citizenship, who has positively affected fellow students, and who has contributed to the prestige and well being of their campus and to the University as a whole. Faculty and students nominate individuals who represent the characteristics of the Walker Award.
Wilson graduated from Penn State Lehigh Valley with a B.S. in Business. While at Penn State Lehigh Valley, he was a Lion Ambassador; a writer for the student newspaper, Orchard Press; a member of the campus' golf team and tennis team, and a tutor in the Learning Center. In addition, he was active with the Student Government Association, the Blue & White Society, and a member of the campus' THON committee. Formerly of Lewisberry, Pa., Wilson resides in Stroudsburg, Pa., with his wife.
Funds for the award are donated each year from the estate of Dr. Eric A. Walker, President Emeritus of the University, and his wife Josephine.
