Mauro presented with Student Affairs Officer Award
Dr. Brian Mauro, Director of Student Affairs, has been honored for his long-time service to the students of Penn State Lehigh Valley.
Mauro was this year's recipient of the John W. Beatty Award for Outstanding Student Affairs Officer. Penn State presents this University-wide award to recognize one individual who has demonstrated over a period of years a commitment to students as a mentor, adviser, and counselor.Dr. Ann M. Williams, Chancellor of Penn State Lehigh Valley, commented, "I have had the privilege of watching Brian grow professionally over the years. This award certainly symbolizes that he has reached a pinnacle level within the University." Mauro has led the Student Affairs department at Penn State Lehigh Valley since fall 1999. He holds a doctorate in Human Development with a concentration in Higher Education Administration from Marywood University; a master's degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs from Ohio University; and a bachelor's degree from Millersville University. A native of York, Pennsylvania, Mauro resides in Easton with his wife and two sons.
