Call for Proposals for Diverse Literacies Conference
Penn State Lehigh Valley is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for the second Annual Diverse Literacies Conference, scheduled from 8 a.m.–2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at the Bear Creek Resort in Macungie, Pennsylvania. The conference theme, Teachers Teaching Teachers: Exemplary Instructional Practices in the Diverse Classroom, is designed to provide a variety of opportunities for participants to listen, talk, and reflect on their own practice and apply ideas in their own context. The keynote speaker this year is Patrick Shannon, author of nine books including Reading Against Democracy and Reading Poverty by Heinemann.
