Lecture focuses on living on your "share"
Dr. Margaret Christian, Associate Professor of English at Penn State Lehigh Valley, will present the first in a series of lectures for adults 55 and older to be held on Friday, March 7, at the Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center in Bethlehem. The topic, My Share: Living on One Six-Billionth, focuses on life resources – food, water, wealth – available on Earth today and, with 6.4 billion people on the planet, what is "my share" of those resources. This illustrated talk will lead into a discussion of lifestyles in the U.S. and how we can minimize our ecological impact.
Dr. Christian has been a professor at Penn State University since 1989. She has traveled extensively, visiting extended family in India, Central America, and southern Africa. In August 2006, she collected photographs and interviews in Thailand for this lecture – the first stop along an ambitious My Share-related itinerary.
Doors open at 10 a.m. and the lecture begins at 11 a.m. The cost for the lecture series is $50 per person. The Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center is located at 100 Brodhead Road, Suite 120, Bethlehem.
