Opportunities available for Human Resource Professionals
Penn State Lehigh Valley, in partnership with the Holmes Corporation and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is offering the instructor-led version of the official SHRM Learning System program. Classes will be held at the Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center in Bethlehem on Saturdays, January 26; February 2, 16; March 1, 8, 29; and April 5 and 19, 2008, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This course provides an overview of key areas in Human Resource Management to prepare individuals for the Professional and Senior Professional in Human Resources certification examination. Topics covered are Strategic Management; Workforce Planning and Employment; Human Resource Development; Compensation and Benefits; Employee and Labor Relations; and Occupational Health, Safety, and Security. Materials used in the course correspond to the functional areas and knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute. The program consists of thirty-six hours of class instruction and an instructor-led review session prior to the certification exams.
