World War II Remembered at Home Front Gallery Exhibit

11/20/2007 —

Penn State Lehigh Valley has partnered with the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum for the museum’s current World War II Exhibit. The exhibit will include several photographic pieces from the Penn State University archives that depict the University’s participation in the home front efforts during the war. As part of the event, Penn State alumni and friends are invited to attend one of two receptions at the World War II Exhibit in the Home Front Gallery, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut Street, Allentown. The receptions are co-sponsored by the Penn State University Libraries. Guests may choose to attend either Thursday, November 29 at 6 p.m. or Saturday, December 1 at 3 p.m.

At the event, guests will enjoy refreshments and have the opportunity to view military and home front artifacts, see archival films and photographs, and learn about Penn State University's home front efforts.

The exhibit opened on Veterans Day, November 11, and will run through May 2008. For more information, contact Stacy Hamm in the Office of Alumni Relations at 610-285-5064 or via e-mail at slh53@psu.edu.
