Penn State Lehigh Valley Hosts 30-Year Retrospective
On Thursday, June 21, Penn State Lehigh Valley will host a social event to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Fogelsville campus building. The 30-Year Retrospective will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Atrium and Multi-Purpose Room at Penn State Lehigh Valley, 8380 Mohr Lane, Fogelsville.
The building of Penn State Lehigh Valley's current main campus began in 1968 with a donation by Mohr's Orchard of forty acres of land. Over the next few years the campus, then known as the Penn State Allentown Center, leased space in the former Upper Macungie Elementary School as temporary housing while the new campus was constructed. In 1977, the Penn State Allentown Campus moved into its new home on Mohr Lane.
"This is a time of celebration – of bringing together alumni, faculty, staff, and students to honor an important passage in our campus' history," states Dr. Ann Williams, Chancellor of Penn State Lehigh Valley. "In thirty years so many people have walked the halls of this building, have made life-long connections, and have had a positive impact on the campus and the community. Our hope is that this celebration brings together old friends and reacquaints our alumni with the campus."
