Opportunities available for Human Resource Professionals
Penn State Lehigh Valley, in partnership with the Holmes Corporation and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is offering the instructor-led version of the official SHRM Learning System program. Classes will be held at the Penn State Lehigh Valley Corporate Learning Center on Saturdays, January 13 through April 14, 2007, 8 a.m. – 12 noon.
This course is designed to provide an overview of key areas in Human Resource Management and covers Strategic Management; Workforce Planning and Employment; Human Resource Development; Compensation and Benefits; Employee and Labor Relations; and Occupational Health, Safety, and Security. Course materials correspond to the functional areas, responsibilities, and knowledge as defined by the Human Resource Certification Institute. The program consists of thirty-three hours of class instruction and an instructor-led review session prior to the Professional and Senior Professional in Human Resources certification examinations.
