BLOOD DRIVE HELD ON CAMPUS
Penn State Lehigh Valley will hold a blood drive in conjunction with the Samuel W. Miller Memorial Blood Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 19, in the parking lot of the campus. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are encouraged to donate blood on behalf of Penn State Lehigh Valley as part of the drive. Donors should call Arlene Quesada, health services coordinator, at (610) 285-5017 to reserve a time to donate. Walk-ins also are welcome. The Miller Memorial Blood Center was opened in 1971 as the Lehigh Valley's first centrally located facility for the collection, processing and storage of blood and blood components and supplies blood to 12 area hospitals from New Jersey to Pottstown. Three hundred donors are required a day in order to meet the number of units needed by the hospitals. To donate blood at the center or at branch or satellite locations or to arrange for a bloodmobile at a business, call (800) B-A-DONOR.
