Ireland added to 2013-2014 Lehigh Valley study abroad opportunities

Spring Break in Ireland
11/20/2013 —

Penn State Lehigh Valley has added a short-term study abroad opportunity in Ireland to its list of spring break 2014 international opportunities for students. The trip, which runs March 6-13, will occur in conjunction with an advanced social psychology course (PSYCH 420). Interested students should contact David Livert, associate professor of psychology at Penn State Lehigh Valley, at del11@psu.edu for more information.

The course and assignments will focus on a branch of psychology known as community psychology which approaches issues from an ecological perspective. Students will create a presentation about an issue facing the Lehigh Valley community and share their projects with students at the University of Limerick in Ireland. The Irish students will share a similar project based on their own local community. In addition, course participants will visit some of Ireland's most notable destinations including Dublin city, Newgrange, and the Cliffs of Moher.

Penn State Lehigh Valley faculty are collaborating to offer a number of short-term study abroad options in a range of subject areas for the 2013-2014 academic year including Peru, Mexico, England, China and Panama. Opportunities are open to all Penn State students.
