Penn State Lehigh Valley is celebrating its 100th anniversary of education and service to the Lehigh Valley with a variety of events in 2012. More events will be scheduled throughout the year. Visit www.lv.psu.edu online and click on the 100 Years button for the most updated list of events and announcements.

Students, faculty and staff came together at the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012 to participate in "100 Coats for 100 Years," as part of Burlington Coat Factory's Warm Coats & Warm Hearts Drive. The Office of Student Affairs and Speak Your Community, the campus community service club, organized the collection of gently-used coats with the goal of collecting one coat for each of Penn State Lehigh Valley's one hundred years of service to the Lehigh Valley. The drive wraps up on Jan. 12.

A new gallery exhibit, "Reflecting on 100 years at Penn State Lehigh Valley, 1912-2012: Art and artifacts that tell our story," will be on display from Jan. 16-Feb.11, 2012. A special reception hosted by Alumni Relations will be held Feb. 2, from 6-8 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

A new gallery exhibit, "Home Front Heroes: Penn State Women during WWII," will be on display from Feb. 27-Apr. 28, 2012. This exhibit will celebrate both the campus' centennial and Women's History Month. A reception will be held March 1, from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Women's Commission has created a commemorative cookbook, "Roaring Recipes: Celebrating 100 Years of Penn State in the Lehigh Valley," which will be on sale beginning in February in the campus bookstore and online at www.lvwccookbook.webs.com. Proceeds of the sale of the cookbook will benefit the needs of Penn State Lehigh Valley students, providing scholarship awards and educational events.

This centennial year will mark the inaugural Penn State Lehigh Valley Golf Tournament to be held on Monday, June 4, at Brookside Country Club in Macungie, Pa. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Penn State Lehigh Valley student athletes and athletic teams. For more information about sponsorship possibilities or golfing in the tournament, contact Lynn Staples at 610-285-5082.
