Best Practices Conference announced
The Lehigh Valley Writing Project (LVWP) will hold its annual Best Practices Conference from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Saturday, January 30, at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Fogelsville.
The conference features interactive workshops and presentations for teachers to share professional teaching practices. The keynote presentation, "Engaging Boy Writers," will be given by Ralph Fletcher, author of numerous books for children, young adults, and writing teachers including his most recent, "Pyrotechnics on the Page: Language Play that Boosts Writing" (Stenhouse). Based at Penn State Lehigh Valley's Corporate Learning Center in Bethlehem, the Lehigh Valley Writing Project is a National Writing Project program dedicated to developing literacy and communication skills. LVWP offers a variety of programs including:
