Caribbean celebration plans to turn up the heat in November

A celebration of Caribbean culture will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, in the auditorium (room 135) at the campus in Center Valley.

 

The event will include a special performance by the Penn State Lehigh Valley Dance Team, a musical performance by Ewabo steel drum band, and a selection of Caribbean style food for tasting. The celebration is co-sponsored by the Dance Team, the Diversity Club, and Student Affairs.

 

Ewabo, a steel drum band hailing from Trinidad and Tobago, has performed for a diversified clientele including President Bill Clinton at the Arkansas Inaugural Ball, patrons of the Potomac Riverfest, Norfolk Harborfest, Hispanic Fest, Annapolis Arts Fest, the Cherry Blossom Parade, DC Caribbean Carnival Parade, the Howard University Homecoming, Bluemont Concert Series, Human Rights Day, and numerous international embassies.
