Freshman Orientation Day

The information provided here is intended to give students an indication of when they can expect to be invited by the Division of Undergraduate Studies to participate in the First-Year Testing, Consulting, and Advising Program.

  • Students admitted for Fall Semester

    FTCAP Testing

    • After you accept your offer of admission, you will be scheduled to take FTCAP testing on the Web. The tests take approximately 2 hours.  You will be given a deadline by which you MUST take these tests online in order to have the results scored, printed, and ready for you when you attend your FTCAP advising day. Details about the testing will be sent to you along with the notification of your deadline, beginning after March 19, 2012.
    • It is especially important to please complete your testing and supporting materials within your assigned time. Timely completion of these tasks ensures your eligibility to select first available FTCAP dates.

    FTCAP Advising

    • After you complete testing, your test scores and educational planning material will be sent from University Park to the Lehigh Valley Academic Advising Department. Once you have completed the online tests, you are now eligible to register online for your FTCAP day.  You can register by clicking here.

    • Once you have registered for a FTCAP date, you will be unable to change that date online.  However, if you cannot attend the date you have chosen, our staff will work with you to select a later FTCAP date. Keep in mind that canceling or changing the appointment date you selected, may result in your not being able to schedule critical classes your first semester. If there is an emergency that prevents you from making your FTCAP day, please contact Mike Hertel at 610.285.5126 as soon as possible to reschedule.
